I am compiling here the main pieces pointed at the BBC The Beauty of Diagrams program. How art and science have been conflated in the creation of these pieces trough History.

1#The Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci (Italy)

2#The Heliocentric System by Copernico (Poland)

3#The Rose Diagram by Florence Nightingale (English)

4#Sketch on the Refraction Experimenbt by Isaac Newton (English)

5#The DNA diagram by Odile Crick (English)

What was of interest from the content of the program?
It can be argued that diagrams are tool that can be used for the visualisation of ideas and their relationships. They are working tools and allow for the development of ideas.
Diagrams can also serve as tools for persuasion and the backing of arguments trough a very accessible language. They also provide with a general picture while simultaneously allow a more in-depth reading for the keen eye.

So for me diagrams can perform valuable tasks like being informative, accessible, fact-based, malleable and persuasive.
