La tensión eterna.
Siempre ha habido tensión entre el individual y el conjunto, sobre todo cuando hablamos de sociedad.
La arquitectura tiene que lidiar positivamente con este problema. Debe crear respuestas funcionales generalizadas (sociedad) pero que se adapten al individuo.
Es como la tensión propuesta por el estudio SANAA al realizar el Nuevo Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Nueva York. Por un lado el museo necesita proveer de un espacio sólido y funcional pero por otro lado deber ser lo más flexible posible, es decir, tiene que dejar de ser sólido para pasar a ser fluido. Para ser adaptable y por lo tanto flexible el espacio podrá tanto solidificarse como realizar la fusión.
Pero lo que yo quiero plantear aquí, no trata de estos temas que acabo de nombrar, sino de la palabra que resume y agrupa a todos estos fenómenos contrapuestos: la antinomia.
The eternal tension.
There's always been tension between the individual and the group, when we talk about society above all.
Architecture has to fight in a positive way with this problem. It has to create general functional answers (society) that also satisfy the individual.
It's like the tension proposed by SANAA when they designed the New Museum of Contemporary art of New York. In one hand the museum had to provide a solid space and functional but on the other hand it had to be as flexible a possible. This means that the space has to be able to transform from solid to fluid. To be adaptable and then flexible the space will be able to solidify and to melt as well.
But what I'd like to set out here, is not about the above-named topics, is about the word that summarizes and groups all these opposed phenomena: antinomy.
